April 7, 2026 from 9am-2pm - "Painting Trees and Foliage"
This class will offer students the knowledge and experience of painting a wide variety of trees and common foliage used in most landscape paintings.
Most artists have a great deal of difficulty working with greens. It is a challenge to create the variety of realistic greens necessary for most landscape paintings. Beginning and intermediate students generally overwork their trees and foliage, and don’t know how to effectively simplify them.
- We will examine these problems and learn how to solve them.
- We will cover how to mix a wide variety of beautiful greens using a split primary palette.
- We will practice painting the most common types of trees found in the American landscape.
- We will work on the colorful fall foliage as well as the greens of Summer.
This class is open to oil and acrylic painters of all levels except the absolute beginner.
